I'm Col — a qualified coach based in the West Midlands. I work with people rebuilding their lives after divorce: finding their feet, finding their confidence, and eventually, if they want it, finding their way back into dating — with a plan, not just hope.

I'm not a coach who read about hard times in a textbook. Divorce, bereavement, serious illness in my family — I've been through seasons where the story I was telling myself was that life was over, that I'd failed, that this was all there was now. None of that turned out to be true. But I needed help to see it, and rebuilding took longer and taught me more than I ever expected.
That's what I bring to coaching: I've made the journey I now help other people make. I trained as a coach (ILM Level 5) because lived experience on its own isn't enough — but I'd never want to coach without it.
How I coach
After a divorce, most people aren't short of advice. What they're carrying is a story — often one running quietly in the background:
I'm too old to start again. Nobody would want me now. I had my chance.
I call this the false narrative, and my coaching is built around replacing it with something true.
This isn't positive thinking. It's structured work: we look honestly at where you are, what you actually want, and what's really in the way — then we build a plan and you act on it between sessions. If dating again is part of what you want, we work on that too: not scripts and tactics, but going in as yourself, with standards, a plan A, and a plan B.
The programme
I offer a six-session coaching programme, each session around an hour, in person locally or by video call. The pace is led by you — I'd recommend at least two weeks between sessions, so you've got real time to put things into practice before we meet again.
It's free at the moment for a straightforward reason: I'm building my coaching practice, and I'd rather coach well and often than charge early. In return I ask for real commitment — turning up, doing the work between sessions, and honest feedback.
Being clear
You don't need to be in crisis to work with me; you need to want something to be different and be willing to work at it. And if I ever think what you need is beyond coaching, I'll say so and help you find the right support instead.
How it starts
Free, around 20 minutes, no obligation on either side. We see whether we're a good fit. If we're not, I'll tell you honestly — and where I can, I'll point you somewhere better.
If we're both in, I send you a short pack that explains what coaching is and helps you decide whether it's right for you.
We book it, and the work begins.
One conversation costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. If the story in your head says it's too late for you — that's exactly the story worth testing.
